“The most exciting two minutes in sports!" The 148th running of the Kentucky Derby is Saturday, May 7th and we’re hosting 412Thrive's 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser! Please purchase a horse to help 412Thrive raise funds necessary to provide care packages for individuals going through treatment and for other important services.
Entry fee is $25 per horse, and for that you will be randomly assigned the number of a horse for the big race on May 7th. There are normally twenty horses in the race, so each pool will have 20 slots. There will be at least a few pools, depending on the number of entrants.
We’re looking for Owners! Do you think you can sell all 20 horses in a pool for your friends and family to race against each other? Let us know you plan to fill a pool and who the Jockeys (slot buyers) will be for your race. If you don't fill all 20 slots by the deadline, we will randomly assign people to fill empty slots. Deadline is 12:00 Noon on Race Day.
Each pool will generate $250 in prize money - $150 for the Win (1st), $75 for Place (2nd), $25 for Show (3rd), and $250 to support 412Thrive. It’s a fun way to help us raise funds for a worthy cause, and give you a horse to cheer on whilst sipping your Mint Julep…
Payment via Venmo preferred: @fouronetwothrive, PayPal (friends and family) also acceptable: email@example.com, or you may send a check made payable to 412Thrive to Bev Cwalina, 405 Timberlake Drive, Venetia PA 15367. Deadline for payments is 12:00 Noon on Race Day, May 7th.
